To His Coy Mistress

Analysis[]

This line is a reference to “To His Coy Mistress” by Marvell. This poem main idea is “momento mori” – seize the day. The man character does not want the mistress to “play hard to get” because he does not have time. To be honest, he does not want to spend time on her. He just wants to get straight to his main purpose, to get lay. This shows that modern time people are getting more impatience, even in love. They do not spend time to understand each other or do things that in love couples used to do. They just want to have sex.
